Malgrat de Mar & Santa Susanna
A coastal town, Malgrat de Mar is situated in the southern portion of the Costa del Maresme. Its coarse sand beach forms the backdrop for a calm sea which is ideal for all sorts of water sports. Malgrat offers a slightly quieter holiday but is within easy access of the larger resorts. The long, coarse sandy beach is interspersed with rocks and there is a regular boat service that comes into the shelved beach with a shuttle bus service connecting the two. A coastal railway runs alongside the seafront road, dividing the hotels from the beach.There are plenty of shops, where you can buy locally made handcrafts and a weekly market for bargains and souvenirs. The resort offers a variety of entertainment with bars, discos and cafes.

The South West of Malgrat merges with the old town of Santa Susanna, with its narrow cobblestoned streets, ancient monuments and buildings and traditional way of life. The beach front at Santa Susanna is just over a mile long. The beachfront railway that runs through Malgrat also extends across the beachfront of Santa Susanna. A return train ticket to Barcelona from Malgrat/Santa Susanna is approximately 7 Euros.
